On a mission to make being extroverted a career.

I have always considered myself a creative person. Since I was young, I was always mimicking typography, prints, and designs and finding ways to put my own flair on them. Once I was graduating high school, I was helping design shirts for my summer camp and confident I had found my calling - graphic design.

I went to Furman University pursuing a communications degree with a focus in graphic design. I wanted to take every graphic design class that was offered and soak up all the creative information I could find. Even with my time physically in class cut short by COVID-19, I was still finishing up design projects over zoom, on Adobe Illustrator by the pool, and drawing up ideas from home.

When I finally landed an internship getting to work in marketing and design, I was ecstatic! I was finally getting to do the real work I had been dreaming of. And I loved all the creativity and Adobe Creative Cloud work I got to do, really, but something was missing for me - people.

Every single personality test I’ve ever taken makes one thing abundantly clear - I’m an extrovert (the Highlands Ability Battery says I’m 99% extroverted). I’m energized by being around people and thrive off of building and cultivating relationships. I loved scratching my creative itch in graphic design work, but was desperately missing interacting with people within and without the company. So I accepted a job at a fundraising company and learned that LOVE building and managing relationships, public speaking, and client care.

As I move further into my working journey, I’m seeking careers that apply several of my passions - and scratch all of my creative, artsy, people-loving, extroverted itches.
